I'm an old hat, has-been pro. My thoughts on radios and on-camera bikes: They are perfect for expanding the fan base by bringing the fan into the race. Couldn't be better. On the downside, radios have destroyed much of what defined professional cycling. That is, the ability of every rider in the race to know what s/he, teammates, and all other teams should or are likely to do. This was once called "reading the race", a term that may have fallen into disuse (I don't know!), much like the skill of knowing exactly how far to move your friction downtube shifter to jump a specified number of cogs and doing so without needing to "trim your derailleur". Not sure if any of you young guys will even know these references! Cycling is still cycling but in some ways it has become boring. However, my experience watching it make absolutely no difference. What matters is engaging new and larger audiences. How about cameras mandated by promotors/tv coverage with a steady feed from all riders. That way the producers could jump between riders' points of view. Computer calculated time splits, speeds, stats, road gradients, wind speed and on and on might add to the engagement. Still, the sport has evolved to be less exciting due to exacting information available via rider/team radios. Seems the human elements of passion, personality, as well as riders' mental calculators required are less important now.

I can't imagine the times that the 1980's riders would of had using these newer lighter and aero bikes. There is no way these dudes can sustain these speeds without using these modern lighter and super aero bikes. What speeds could these guys get on my 15 kg $250 road bike? The same speed I get battling 35 km hr head winds. All time trials should be on their normal road bike, they are literally using Hour Record Time bikes now outside, it's a complete joke and looks embarrassing.

I didn't like that the peloton waited for Adam Yates I know that pro cycling is fixed but I prefer it if I can maintain plausible deniability while watching. Moments like that make that impossible
Ahh but the super-tuck is gone so it's all perfectly safe now. Nothing to be anxious about here, just a bunch of tired, highly motivated and pissed off guys doing 60kph shoulder-to-shoulder dodging road-furniture between the budget-barrier death-traps. Totally stress free now that we're all saved the perils of the super-tuck.

The commentary is completely uninspired. Dear commentator, if you don't like cycling and the race doesn't interest you at all, just find something else to do. This is horrible for everybody and it's been going on for far too long.
The guy is perfectly fine, you're just used to screaming, overexcited idiots thinking they are the norm (I'm guessing you're an F1 fan maybe?). Take some enhancers before watching youtube, if you want excitement?
